Upon the recommendation of a local Italian, we decided to try out Il Fico, considering its high Google review rating. However, our experience was different, and we felt like we wasted our money. Unfortunately, we were quite dissatisfied with the chef's skills. Whether the chef was professionally trained or self-taught didn't matter much to us, but the dishes they served were simply not enjoyable. Fritto Misto was so bad. One notable disappointment was the Panna Cotta with Nutella, the most unpleasant dessert we've ever had. No, we won’t come back and recommend my friends other restaurants. Two stars as a lady who served us was friendly.
What a wonderful place. Excellent location, really friendly and welcoming staff, and absolutely gorgeous food. Our party enjoyed steaks (the sirloin - massive! - and the entrecôte, which was beautifully served with cheese) and the sausage and mushroom pasta with yellow tomatoes. A carafe of house red was delicious. We and our two young sons voted this the best meal of our holiday! Thank you Il Fico 😍

We definitely enjoyed this place. Great food. When we tried to make a reservation we phoned but they were still closed, the owner made an effort to send me a message on whatsapp to confirm my reservation.
We dined here twice on our recent visit to Ceglie Messapica. The menu is diverse catering for all needs, the serves are generous and the food and wine is outstanding. We dined outside and enjoyed the ambience and energy of the locals wandering the streets. The service is brilliant - Pierre and Francesco are great guys and made our dining experience a highlight of our visit to this marvellous Italian town.
Highly recommended! This little bar/restaurant with a terrace in the evening sun just off the town’s main square is a gem. We asked if we could have a drink when they hadn’t formally opened yet for the evening and we were graciously accommodated. The kitchen wasn’t open yet but they offered a selection of antipasti which were AMAZING! Beautiful cheeses, meat and squid, fresh artichoke, grilled eggplant, croquettes, bruschetta, a fantastic dish of melted cheese with fungi, and much more. Everything was way beyond our expectations and the friendly and cheerful staff made us feel very welcome. Go here if you’re in Ceglie Messapica and if you’re not in Ceglie Missapica just make sure to get there because Il Fico is worth a visit.
Excellent food, beautiful staff. Everything we ate at Il Fico was perfect and the guys who run the restaurant are absolutely lovely. Highly recommend coming here!
